Ningpo, now known as Ningbo, is a city in northeast China. Ningpo Treaty Port opened in 1842 along with the other 5 original Treaty Ports as a result of the Treaty of Nanking. At the time, Ningpo was well known for manufacturing furniture. The Treaty Port closed on 30 November, 1922.
